Under the auspices of the SASHG, the Young Researchers’ Forum (YRF) draws together the junior members of the organisation. We aim to provide both a meeting place and a voice for all students (BTech, BSc (Hons), MSc, MMed, PhD); postdocs and junior faculty members involved in human genetics research in South Africa and beyond. The only restriction to YRF membership is membership of the SASHG.
The YRF has two main goals:
- To improve communication amongst young researchers and across different institutions using social media and other avenues
- To provide a platform to address issues specifically affecting students and junior researchers, for example: available research projects, options for career development, funding opportunities and many many more
