Prof. Chris Vorster
Associate Professor Chris Vorster was appointed as the Director of the Centre for Human Metabolomics at North-West University in 2010, where he subsequently established the National Metabolomics Platform. Under his leadership comprehensive metabolic testing, newborn screening, and metabolomics services were established that are nationally utilized for diagnostic and research purposes. In 2023 Chris was seconded to the DIMPLOMCS Nngwe programme, an initiative to diagnose undiagnosed rare disease patients through locally provided genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics services. In this capacity he drives the establishment of knowledge, capacity and infrastructure that will enable future diagnostic and research applications.
